Dara- coming soon.....................................................................................................................................................................

Financial donations are very much appreciated. We also need donations of food, medications, dog beds, volunteer time and so much more.

Evie or Evelyn as I call her sometimes is a sweet, sweet girl. She lives in a larger population at the shelter with her brother Eric. She gets along well with most all dogs and loves her dinner time. She could use a little more exercise like some of our other dogs to lose a little weight. She is about 4 years old and her perfect weight us about 45lbs. She has a cropped tail with a beautiful short haired wavy coat of dark golden fur. She likes to steal cans of food when she has access and pile them all up in the yard as though she has a long winter coming and needs to stock up on supplies. She would be a great companion to a family with older children or a couple or single person. She does need to be leash trained and needs a secure fenced yard to go out in until she is comfortable in her surroundings. She would be a good companion for another dog her age or older. Type your paragraph here.

Our shelter is home to many loveable Potcakes. Our facility houses mostly adult dogs, we occationally have puppies as well. There are over 40 wonderful Potcakes just waiting for their forever family!

We were lucky to start our shelter back in 2010 and we've been able to successfully keep our doors open for over 6 years now. It's taken a lot of love, hard work and dedication, but the animals make every day a joy for us!

Please help us continue our efforts by making a financial donation today.

Girlie - She is a beautiful red brown color of short fur. She is about 4- 5 years old and a little over weight, perfect weight should be about 50 lbs. she is shy and will need someone special to work with her. She was also attacked at the shelter so has become very still and stays in her own area and does not socialize much. She is housed with 2 young males and does really well and gets along well with females to. She does not need to be housed with any alpha dogs male or female. She will do better in a quiet environment with no children or loud noises. She is less mobile in getting her to do things than Pinto so has to be someone young and strong enough to help her and move her if needed. She did really well at Donnas during the storm so would adapt well to adoption. Part of her personality is the shelter itself, since her attack this is her way of surviving. She would blossom with the right placement. Type your paragraph here.

Coming soon - Mario

Caspar, he is a big boy! A bit over weight but still a big dog. He is about 4 years old and his perfect weight should be about 60-65lbs. He still has lots of puppy in him and loves to play with other younger dogs. He playfully growls like a gator, always thought his name should of been gator! He is super sweet and would make a great family or single person pet. He is very protective of his food with other dogs so this would need to be worked on. We all love him, he is special. He has a cute under bite and beautiful golden brown fur. He is also housed in larger population as he us mellow and gets along well with other dogs, even likes to sneak past you to visit other groups.

SKIPPY – If you love long walks by the beach at sunset, then Skippy's your kind of dog. Your companion and friend, Skippy has a huge heart and it's filled with love for you!

BIG MAMMA - One of the original shelter residents Big Mamma is a loveable senior Potcake that would love to laze around the house and keep you company.

Gigi, everyone loves her Gigi. She is about 40 lbs and about 4 years old. She needs a bit of care to bring her coat to its full beauty, she is pink skinned and delicate. With her white short fur and her patch on her eye she is a beautiful girl. She has a bit of herding dog in her as she likes to round everyone up. She is an alpha female and would do well with a more mellow and submissive male.
She will make a great family dog and would be just as devoted and content with one owner. She needs to be leash trained but listens well and would adapt quickly. She loves her food but does not over eat if allowed but she will guard her food whether she is hungry or not with another dog not with people. She is very friendly, outgoing and gentle with people. She has one of the gentlest touch when taking a treat. She is one of our most social, adoptable dogs.

  • Our number one goal for 2017 is to place our adult shelter residents in their forever homes.
  • Continue to hold our free Spay and Neuter Clinics throughout Abaco.

Pinto, is one of my favorite dogs. She is perfect for someone like me that does not want a lab style in your face dog. She can be full of spunk and protect her own but she is mostly reserved, quiet and strikingly beautiful. She needs someone gentle without small children. She will need work to help her be more social but she loves attention and affection. She was trapped as a feral mother and come around so nicely. She was attacked at the shelter by a bigger female and has a slight front knuckle curve. It does not affect her movement and she is completely healed. She is shy and would not do well in a loud, active household but would make such a loyal and devoted companion to a couple or single person. She is gentle and would also suit someone older. She does need leash training as well and would need a secure fenced yard to get settled. She is the perfect stay at home companion. She has a short coat of white and gold with both colors dividing her face, beautiful markings. She weighs about 40 lbs and is about 2-3 years old.
